Derrick Howard

Derrick Dean Howard, 49, went to be with Jesus on May 18th, 2017 at his residence in Iron Station, NC.  He was the son of the late Danny Ray Howard and Sandra Kay Duncan of South Carolina.

In addition to his wife, Kathryn (Kayte) Howard; daughters, Roxanna Hunter and husband Todd of SC, and Kasi Trantham and husband Bryan of North Pole, AK; a son, Jamie Jones of Lincolnton; a sister, Crystal Mckinney of Charleston, SC; a half sister, Tumara Brisco of SC; and grandchildren; Breanna Hunter, Bryson Hunter, Bristol Hunter, and Gabriella Chilton; and a dear friend he thought of as a daughter, Brittany Chilton of Cherryville, NC survive him.

He was the greatest husband any wife could ever dream of as well as the best father and grandfather. He adored his grandchildren. When he married his wife, he gained a large family who truly loved him very much. He was a great man all around.  He made friends wherever he went and never met a stranger.  He was great man and will be desperately missed by all.
