Diane Watts

Diane Beck Watts, 74, of Newton, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Born, February 19th, 1947, in Burke County she was the daughter of the late Phifer Beck and Geneva Martin Beck. Her family always came first. She enjoyed cooking, flowers, playing bingo, and going to her grandsons baseball games. Diane was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church; Christian Women's Fellowship & The Young at Heart. Diane worked for Shuford Mills until she retired.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Larry Watts (Kornbread).

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Nelson Lutz (Gina) of Newton, Todd Watts (Kynetha) of Newton; grandchildren Ryan Lutz, Josh Lutz and Carson Watts and a number of special cousins and special friends, Gwen McRee, and Kay Wagner.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021 in the Chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home with Pastor Dr. Rob Helton officiating.
