Donald Chester

Donald Eugene Chester, 68 of Maiden died Sunday, July 6th, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born March 21st, 1946, he was the son of the late David Pinkney Chester and Lola Lail Chester. He was employed by Redimix Concrete for nearly 20 years and worked for Pinnacle Furniture Company for 20 years. He loved music particularly George Jones music. He was a big NASCAR fan, a very hard working person and a good "daddy," "pa" and husband. His wife of 30 years, Marilyn Ann Brown Chester of the home; four daughters, Donna Horn of Newton, Carolyn Chester Jones of Conover, Michelle Bellamy and husband Buddy of Maiden and Trinity Chester of the home; a son, Michael Greer of Maiden; five sisters, Polly Roberts and husband Charles of Kernersville, Nora Russo and husband Jerry of Valdese, Loretta Swink and husband Henry of Catawba and Darlene Walker of Hildebran and Evelyn Crump of Hudson; three brothers, Robert Chester of Valdese, Ray Shew and wife Diana of Sopie, NC and Lee Shew and wife Tammy; six grandchildren, Drake Bellamy, Drew Bellamy, Katie Johnson, Jacob Horn, Dustin Jones and Nicholas Goble and wife Brandy and special friend Roy Keller of Morganton survive him. A son, Christopher Chester preceded him in death. The funeral will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 9th, 2014 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Robert Chester, Mr. Roy Keller and Mr. Buddy Bellamy officiating.
