Donald Floyd "Duck" Grigg 73 of Iron Station died Saturday, June 17th, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center in  Lincolnton. Born June 17th, 1944, he was the son of the late James Grigg Sr. and Merle Whitworth Grigg. A US Navy Veteran, he was a supervisor in the textile industry.  A loving and caring father and husband, he was a man of many talents. He played guitar in a band and was a great cook and gardener.   His wife, Nancy Gail Thomas Grigg of the home; a daughter, Tammy Grigg Dameron and husband Alfred of Hickory; two sons, Bobby Gene Grigg of Iron Station and Danny Grigg and wife Wendy of Pumpkin Center; a sister, Linda Cleveland  and husband Richard of Iron Station ; a brother, Steve Grigg and wife Linda of Lucia, NC; grandchildren; Christopher Grigg, and Melissa Grigg of Ohio, Alyssa Smith of Lincolnton, Trinity Johnson of Hickory, Serenity and Chasity Dameron of Hickory, Shane Blagg of Virginia, Paige Reel of Pumpkin Center,  and great grandchildren; Maddie and Breanna Woodrum of Ohio survive him. A brother, James Thomas Grigg, Jr. preceded him in death. The funeral will be  Wednesday, June 21st, 2017 at 2:30pm at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with the military Chaplin officiating. A private burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel.  .   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation 4701 Hedgemore Drive Suite 810 Charlotte, NC 28209.
