Donna Murphy

Donna Lynn Murphy, 52 ,of Hickory died Sunday, May 12, 2024, at her home. Born November 6th, 1971, she was the daughter of Jerry Lee Sims (Ada) of Longview and Elizabeth Brown (Jackie) of Hickory.

Donna was known for her giving heart and had a passion for life, never met a stranger and loved everyone. Her last words to anyone was, "I love you". She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two children, Joshua Sims (Alexis) of Bethlehem, Samuel Richard, Jr. of Hickory. Sisters; Tammie Sims, Sarah Hedrick, brother Daniel Sims, Lee Sims. Aunt, Patti Nelson (Michael) of Granite Falls, Uncle, Billy Burch of Granite Falls. Nieces, Angelia Sims(Nikki) and Whitney Guthrie Hudson, Great niece, Hayleigh Beth Herman.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; AB and Shirley Setzer and maternal grandparents; Jesse Bryant and Edith Burch.

In memory of Donna, those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. We will be together again one day until then keep us all safe and watch over all of us.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
