Doris Cousins

Doris Geraldine Cousins, 89 of Fourth Street, Hickory died Friday, October 01, 2010 at Abernethy Laurels. Born April 6, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Leslie Swatzel Sr. & Snow Carolyn Wardel Swatzel. Doris worked 45 years at Shuford Mills and was a member of First Baptist Church in Hickory. A sister, Faye Evelyn Swatzel of Newton; a brother in law, D.R. Lutz of Hickory; a sister in law, Karen Swatzel of Lutz, Florida and a number of nieces & nephews survive her. In addition to her husband, Bill Cousins; a sister, Helen S. Lutz and brother, T.L. Swatzel Jr. preceded her in death. A Memorial Service will be 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel in Newton.
