Doris Michael

Doris Eloise Michael, 89 of Hickory died Monday, August 15th, 2016 at her residence. Born October 20th, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Thomas Emory Jones and Lillie Vaughn Jones. Two sons, Berlie Leonard Michael, Jr. and wife Erica of North Myrtle Beach, SC and David Michael and wife Jeanne of Claremont; a daughter, Brenda Matthews and husband Glenn of Conover; a sister, Patricia Bumgarner and husband Canie of Taylorsville; eight grandchildren, Debra, Shellie, Jereme, Eric, Melanie, Shellie, Ashely and Berlie, lll; 13 great grandchildren survive her. Her husband of 64 years, Berlie Leonard Michael, Sr.; a son, Jerry Keith Michael; two sisters, Betty Ledford and Nell Page, preceded her in death. A Celebration of Doris's life will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 20th, 2016 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Peggy Stout officiating. A private burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Saturday, August 20th, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Catawba Valley P.O.
