Dorothy Blanche Fisher, 88, of Conover passed away Tuesday, October 2nd, 2018 at her home. Born June 27th, 1930 she was the daughter of the late George Poovey and Bonnie Hoover Poovey.
Dorothy is preceded in death by Harley Lee Fisher, her husband of 61 years, Dawn Marie Fisher, infant daughter, Richard Marcus Fisher, grandson, Phyllis Ann Fisher, daughter-in-law, James Fred Browning, son-in-law, Perry Poovey, brother, Betty McClure, sister, Nellie Settlemyre, sister, Rachel Kulp, sister and Billy Richard Poovey, infant brother.
Dorothy is survived by her son H. Richard Fisher of Conover and a daughter, Mary Fisher Browning of Taylorsville; two sisters, Jeanette Isenhour and husband Everet of Taylorsville and Wilma Kindle of Hickory; a brother, Joe Poovey and wife Judy of Newton; a step grand-daughter, Lauren Harmon and husband Shane of Huntersville; great-grandchildren, Palmer and Bellamy Harmon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dot was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Newton. She also volunteered for more than five years at Catawba Regional Hospice. She retired from Catawba Valley Medical Center after more than 25 years of service as a diet aide. Dot was a member of the Eastern Star of NC for 40 years. She donated 95 pints of blood to the American Red Cross.

The funeral will be 3:00 pm Saturday, October 6th, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Ralph Kraft officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm Saturday, October 6th, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
