Dorothy Johnson

Dorothy “Dot” Jonas Johnson, age 96, of Vale, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning May 5th, 2019. She was born June 8th, 1922 in Lincoln county. She was the daughter of late Barbara Jane Jonas and Daniel Burgan Jonas Sr. Dorothy was the last living sibling out of the five children. She had two brothers: Herman Jonas and D.B. Jonas; and two sisters: Lois Wilkinson and Connie Hoyle. She was happily married to her late husband Everette Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory are two children: Dean Johnson and wife Linda, and Nina Justus and husband Floyd; four granddaughters: Linnette Grigg, Kaila Quinley, Katrina Helton, and Krystal Shifflett; five great grandchildren: Carla Christopher and husband Cody of the home, Evan Helton, Emily Helton, Ayden Shifflett, and Eryn Shifflett; one great-great granddaughter LillyAnne Christopher of the home; and multiple nieces and nephews who she truly cherished.

Dorothy was a woman who enjoyed gardening, quilting, traveling, and cooking for her family. She truly adored her family and valued her faith in the Lord. She will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a devout Christian, a loving mother and grandmother to all.

The funeral will be 4:00 pm Friday, May 10th, 2019 at Palm Tree United Methodist Church with Pastor Frieda Hobson officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Tree United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 pm Friday at the church.
