Dorothy (Mamaw Dottie) Manley Sigmon went to be with the Lord on Thursday December 22nd, 2016 at Conover Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on May 28th, 1928 she was the daughter of the late William and Ellen Manley.

Mamaw worked in a hosiery mill where she paired socks. She was also a full time mother, grandmother, great grandmother and even a great-great-grandmother. Mamaw Dottie loved her family more than anything in this world and there wasn't anything that she would not do for them. Mamaw Dottie was the ROCK of the family. She never met a stranger and warmed everyone's heart that she came in contact with.
Mamaw was proceeded in death by her husband William Coyte Sigmon; two sisters Maxine Effler, and Evelyn Effler; two brothers J.B. Manley and Clarence Manley; two baby girls, Anna Louise, and Rita Diane Thompkins and one grandchild Chad Sigmon.
Two sons Harold Sigmon and wife Shirley of Newton, Carl Sigmon and wife Linda of Burke County; 15 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 26 great great grandchildren survive her.
A Celebration of life will be held 2pm January 20th 2017 at Brookford Community center with the Rev. Ruby Bridges officiating.
