Douglas Bryant

Douglas Eugene Bryant Sr. 84 of Hickory passed away  Monday, January 14th, 2019 at his home. Born, August 21st, 1934 he was the son of Jessie Clyde Bryant Sr. and Lois Groover Bryant. Eugene was known by alot of people for umpiring Rec. and High School softball.  He loved hunting, fishing and serving his Lord as he was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church for over 40 years.  Eugene was Honorably Discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States of America in November of 1957.

In addition to his wife of 58 years Janice Bryant; two daughters Terry Brown of Hickory, and Sylvia Bryant of Taylorsville; a son Doug Bryant Jr. and wife Lisa of Hickory; a sister Jackie Drum and husband Larry of Hickory, three grandchildren John S. Brown, Carson Bryant, Gwenna Bryant and a number of nieces and nephews survive him.

In addition to his parents; a son in law Gregory Brown; a sister Juanita Sigmon; three brothers William (Bill) Bryant, Clyde Bryant Jr.,and James Bryant preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 pm Saturday January 26, 2019 at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church in Hickory

The family will receive friends 2-3:00 pm Saturday January 26, 2019 at the church.
