Douglas White

Douglas Macarthur White, 81, of Hickory, NC, passed away Friday, June 28th, 2024, at Frye Regional Medical Center. Doug was born at the head of Catawba River in Old Fort, NC September 11, 1942. He was born to Jess Willard White and Mable Allison White Frizsell. He was raised by stepfather, Johnnie E. Frizsell. Doug was an Air Force Veteran and went on to open and operate a car business of his own. Doug and wife Carolyn, opened the car lot Doug White’s Auto Wholesale Mart on December 1st, 1984 and is still in operation today. Doug was a member of, Faith Baptist Church, in Hickory, NC.

In addition to his parents, Doug is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn G. White; Daughter, Krystal D. White; Grandson, Brandon M. White; Sister, Francis White; Sister, Shirley Blanchard; Brother, Phil White. Beloved dog and companion, Sassy.

Mr. White is survived by, Brother, Ed Frizsell; Sisters, Wanda Marley (Larry), Luci Smith (Tim); Sons, Scott White (Linda), Mark White (Pam); Granddaughter, Kristen W. Scism (Jesse); Grandsons, Ryan and Garren White. Great Granddaughter, Brooks White.
Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and close friend, Joe Skerjanec.

The funeral service will be 12:30 on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Jenkins Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Sapoch officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:30 and burial will be at Catawba Memorial Park.
Serving as Pallbearers will be, Ryan and Garren White, Jesse Scism, Chad and Kevin Marley, and Martin Mendoza.
