Dusty Holman

Dusty Holman, 53 of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and formerly of Newton died Saturday May 31, 2008 at his home. Born September 11, 1954 in Wilkes County he was the son of Ruby Goforth Holman of Conover and the late Walter Burl Holman. He was a US Army 82nd Airborne Division veteran serving in Vietnam and Korea, and a military Police at Fort Bragg. He was a skilled brick mason and woodworker and worked in construction most of his life. In addition to his mother, his wife Linda Holman of the home, two daughters, Timeka Sisk and husband Kyle of Lincolnton and Sherry Bruce of Granite Falls; three sons, Jason Holman and wife Kristal of Myrtle Beach, Dusty Holman, Jr. of the home and Jackson Holman of Hudson; four sisters, Betsy Holman of Lexington, Reba Brooks and husband Randy of Newton, Gaye Ikerd of Maiden, Donna Tesner and husband Mark of Shelby; two brothers, Walter â??Buddyâ? Holman and wife Carolyn of Mt. View and Frelan Holman of Morganton; three grandchildren Jaylon Holman, Tyler Sisk and Indiana Sisk and soon to be born, Lillian Claire Holman survive him. A Celebration of Dustyâ??s life will be 12 p.m. Tuesday at Gateway Baptist Church in Newton. The family will receive friends from 10:30- 11:45 a.m. at the church. Pastors Carroll Williams and Jerome Walker will officiate. There will be a 4:00 p.m. graveside service at Gragg family cemetery near Grandfather Mountain. VFW Post 4286 Newland, NC, will provide military rites. Memorials may be made to In-Care Home Health and Hospice, 4685 Hwy 17 Bypass, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
