Dyrl Greene

Dyrl Duane Greene 73 of Conover died Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 at his residence. Born February 18th, 1944 he was the son of the late Duane Greene and Hazel Christine Swink Greene . Dyrl has been an accounting controller for various Catawba County companies. He was active in the Valdese Boy Scout Troop 202 and active in Emmanual Emmaus, a three day "Walk through Emmaus" interdenominational ministry. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Newton. His wife, Linda Lee Stacey Greene of the home; two sons, Charles (Chuck) Greene and wife Jennifer of Winston-Salem and Robert Greene and wife, Kimberly of Lynden, WA; a step-daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Potter and husband, Scott of Hudson and six grandchildren, Adella, Burke, Charlotte, Ashley, Ty and Zack survive him. A Celebration of Dyrl's life will be 3:30 pm Sunday, October 15th, 2017 at Friendship United Methodist Church with Pastor Dereck Cline and Pastor David Hamlyn officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 PM Sunday, October 15th, 2017 at Friendship United Methodist Church.   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Emmanual Emmaus 6196 Hayden Drive HIckory, NC 28601 or to Catawba Regional Hospice 3975 Robinson Road Newton, NC 28658.
