Eddy Franklin Martin, 73, died Thursday, April 7, 2022 at his home. Born in Hickory on April 23rd, 1948, he was the son of Carl Martin and Irene Martin.

He was a lifelong member of Corinth Baptist Church in Vale, NC, where he had served as a deacon, Sunday school director, and missions development director.

Eddy served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 and completed his service with honorable awards and discharge.

Eddy was able to have a career that also fulfilled his passion of feeding the world through 45 years of animal feed manufacture.

He enjoyed his 20 years as a volunteer fireman with Propst Crossroads VFD.

Eddy loved his hobbies of fishing, hunting, and horseback riding.

Eddy is predeceased by his father, Carl, and daughter, Kathy.

He leaves behind loving family members, his wife of 30 years, Debbie, daughters Melissa (Jessica), and Casey. Other survivors include his mother, Irene, and brother, Johnny (Debra), and many other family members.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 23rd, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Corinth Baptist Church in Vale, NC, followed by military honors. The service will be officiated by Pastor William Kanupp. Visitation will follow in the sanctuary of the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Heifer International, 1 World Ave., Little Rock, AR, 72202, or the Corinth Baptist Church Arbor Fund.
