Edgar Ronald "Ron" Smith, 63 of Vale died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at his home. Born March 13, 1950 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Myrtle Wright Smith and Edgar Parmer Smith of Newton.
Ron was a retired truck driver.
In addition to his wife, Jimmie Sue Smith of the home; a daughter, Crystal Dawn Bowman of Crouse, NC; and five step-sons, Joseph Wayne Barker, William Lee Barker, Kevin Ray Barker, Matthew Lane Barker and Adam Wade Barker survive him.
