Edward Paul Christiansen, 74 of Catawba Valley Blvd, SE Hickory died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born August 3, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Edward Christiansen and Marie Wilmes Christiansen. Mr. Christiansen was a mechanical engineer for CP Clare in Asheville, NC for 25 years. He was a loving husband, father and grand-father. In addition to his wife of 47 years, Digna Emerita Marin Christiansen of the home; a daughter, Dianne Christiansen Frank and husband Joseph of Hickory; two sons, Miguel A. Christiansen of Asheville, NC and Francisco J. Christiansen of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Ruth Johnson of Morton Grove, IL and Shirley Peterson of Tucson, AR; a brother, Robert E. Christiansen of Wheaton, IL; 7 grand-children, Christian J. Frank, Quinn M. Frank, Carlos Edward Frank, Rebecca Christiansen, Chelcie Christiansen Spencer, Alexandra Christiansen and Zechariah Christiansen; a great grand-daughter, Peyton Olivia Christiansen; and numerous nieces and nephews survive him. An inurnment service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 5,2011 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Hwy 127, Hickory with Rev. Mr. Tom Rasmussen officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Holy Family Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry ? 31 1st Ave SE ?
