Eleanor Pattengale

On January 30th, 2023, Eleanor Alvinna Pattengale, loving wife and mother of 3 children, passed away at the age of 92 from long term Dementia. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Eleanor was born on August 31 to Samuel (Sam) Maglio and Josephine Maglio.

In early life Eleanor married Orville Grootemaat and had two children. The two parted ways and she worked many miscellaneous jobs including the United States Post Office, an insurance company, and car sales as office help. In 1962 she married Bruce Pattengale. They had one child together. She was a devoted house wife and mother from that time on. They raised their children in the suburbs of Milwaukee. They relocated to Iron Station, North Carolina for several years then moved back to Wisconsin to be nearer to family. They did however, return to North Carolina so that their youngest daughter and husband could assist with their care.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her loving husband Bruce Pattengale, father Samuel Maglio, mother Josephine Maglio, and sister Carol Maglio.

She is survived by 3 children Jeff Grootemaat (Sandy), Christine (Timothy) Schmidt, and Bonnie (Ronald) Eury; Multiple grandchildren Lisa Grootemaat, Dennis Schmidt (Laura), Lori (Dave) Mulsoff, Amy (Joey) Schmidt, Bryan (Amanda) Schmidt, Brandon Froehlich, Brittny (Earl) Locklear, Ronald Eury III, and Lianna Eury and countless great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Eleanor will lay in state from 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm with a short service to follow. On Saturday February 4th, 2023 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Friends and family are welcome to attend the service on-line (Jenkins Funeral Home Facebook Live) that will be available to view for those who are unable to attend in person.
