Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Johnson Ingersoll (88) died peacefully in her sleep October 6, 2018 at Springs of Catawba assisted living center in Hickory, NC. Memorial service plans are pending. Betty was born January 14, 1930 in Ottawa, Canada to Frank and Mabel Johnson who moved the family to Carthage, NY early in her life. Betty graduated from Carthage High School in 1947.
Betty was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church since 1965. She could often be found studying her bible and praying as she looked forward to Jesus coming to redeem His children. Betty served many years as a book keeper in accounting at Sunnyside Nursing Home and Syracuse Home (nursing homes in Syracuse, NY).
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and brother Doran (Carthage, NY), her beloved husband Emerson Ingersoll (Weedsport, NY) and her daughter Linda Moore (Boonville, NY).
She is survived by her sister Carol Yermal (Arizona), her daughters Beth Moore and Connie Froehlic (Dave) (Liverpool, NY), sons Richard and Stephen (Silsa) Moore (Vale, NC), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty was best known for her kindness and generous hugs. In addition, she never met a stranger, she loved everyone she met.
