Elizabeth "Mickey" Michael Ray (Jennings), 76, of Newton, North Carolina, passed away on January 25, 2024. Mickey was born on April 29, 1947, in Edmeston, New York, to Frances and Alfred Jennings.
Mickey dedicated 34 years of her life to working at Head Start, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of many children. After her time at Head Start, she transitioned into a career at Wendy's until her retirement.
Mickey is survived by her spouse, William Ray. She is also survived by her children, John and Tina Taylor, Joseph and Irene Taylor, and Jodi and Jeremy Gulley. Mickey's sister, Linda Bloom, also mourns her loss. She was a cherished grandmother to Korin, Taylor, Skylar, Kylie, Martin, Samantha, Angela, Phyllis, and Joseph, as well as a doting great-grandmother to Kayden, Evelynn, Nora, Alina, and Cyrus.
Mickey is preceded in death by her grandson, Martin Gulley, her brother in law David Bloom, as well as her parents, Frances and Alfred Jennings.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Team Sanfilippo Foundation Inc, 20 Lakewood Ave, Ronkonkomo, NY 11779. Contributions to this organization will help support research and find a cure for Sanfilippo Syndrome.
Mickey's warm presence, dedication to education, and love for her family will be deeply missed. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
