Ellen Conner

Ellen Marianne Wike Conner, 73 of Hickory died May 21st, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born November 29th, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Paul Edgar and Mary Beatrice Morgan Wike. She was the owner and operator of Wike's Florist for many years. She worked for Walmart for over 10 years. She and her husband had a love for crafts, turning their hobby into a business traveling across the country to various craft shows. She loved animals, especially her dogs. A son, Eddy Marc Conner and wife Peggy of Conover; a daughter, Wanda Marie Conner of Hickory and a step daughter, Cynthia Ann Roberson and husband Leonard of Concord, NC; three grand-daughters, Brittany Marie Trexler of Hickory, Shannon Ritchie of Taylorsville and Mindy Hinds of Claremont; five great-grandchildren survive her. Her husband of 52 years, Oscar Martin Conner, Jr. and a stepson, Marty Conner preceded her in death. A graveside service will be 1:00 pm Saturday May 24th, 2014 at Springs Road Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating.
