Etta Powell

Etta Lee Pruitt Powell, 86, of Newton died Monday, March 9, 2020 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born September 14th, 1933 she was the daughter of Millard Neal Pruitt and Sylvia Bales Pruitt.

The father of her children James Willard Powell Jr.; two daughters Julia Sellers of Newton, Lorrie Ann Cassell of Newton; a son James Willard Powell III of Newton; two sisters Patsy Doyle of Marion, Virginia, Suzie Pruitt of Hillsville, Virginia; a brother Denny Pruitt of Piney Creek; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren survive her.

In addition to her parents; two children; three sisters; and six brothers; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren preceded her in death.

The funeral will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 12th, 2020 at Fresh Oil Ministries in Hickory with Rev. David Pettry and Rev. Tammy Pettry officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Newton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm Wednesday, March 11th, 2020 at Fresh Oil Ministries.
