Eva Watson

Eva ?Diana? Watson, 59 of 2nd Avenue, SW Hickory died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Born October 20, 1951, she was the daughter of Billy Alexander Stillwell of Rhodhiss and the late Mary Magdeline Annas Stillwell. Diana worked for Countryside Childcare for 10 years. She also worked for Hammary?s Furniture, Singer Furniture, Kincaid Enterprises and Kolher & Campbell Piano for a number of years. In addition to her husband of 43 years, Robert Hubert Watson, Jr. of the home; two daughters, Cynthia Dawn Houston and husband Douglas of Connelly Springs and Amanda Sue Deal of Hickory; two sisters, Elaine Sigmon of Hudson and Loretta Stillwell of Hickory; and a grand-daughter, Madline Shea Watson survive her. A memorial service will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Conover. Pastors Brian Correll and Jim Robbins will officiate. The family will receive friends 2-3:00 pm, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the church, one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Diana Watson Memorial Fund, 2723 2nd Avenue SW, Hickory, NC 28602. Proceeds will go to the ?Tree of Life? program on the Oncology floor of Catawba Valley Medical Center and the ?Pathways of Promise? brick program thru Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley.
