Faye Watts

Faye Ruth Watts 91 of Maiden died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Carolina Caring. Born Sunday, October 13th, 1929 in the Dover Mill village of Shelby, NC.  She was the daughter of Forest Gales Hamrick and Ola Thompson Hamrick of Shelby.

Her brother, Melvin Hamrick; four sisters, Ruby Grigg, Gladys Wellmon, Pat Jenkins, and JoNan Ivey proceeded her in death and were waiting to greet her in heaven.

She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Ralph Watts of Conover; a daughter and son-in-law, Sundy and Jim Swanson of Maiden; a daughter Tracey Cline of Morganton; a sister, Marie King; her grandchildren, Mark and Melissa Swanson, Heather Faye Swanson, Taylor Brown, Tatianna Cline and Austin Bruhn and Hailey Cline are left to cherish their memories of their MawMaw. Mrs. Watts was also blessed with great-grandchildren , Brandon Grindstaff and Macy Lee, Blake Grindstaff and Kaytlin Hall, Smith Swanson and Peyton Brown.

She dearly loved all her family and was cherished by her nieces and nephews, especially Sandy and Butch Parrish, Craig Grigg, Patricia And Russell Browning, Becky and Don Beam, and Earl and Brenda Wellmon.

A Memorial Service will be held 3:00PM Friday July 16th, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM-3:00PM Friday July 16th, 2021 at Jenkins Funeral Home Celebration Center.

The family has asked in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Faye Watts.
