Florence Fay Sheppard Moncrief Dickinson was born in Cumberland County, Stow Creek Township, NJ. on February 27, 1927. She graduated to her heavenly home on January 21st, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Bert Benjamin Sheppard and Ella Kirby Sheppard.
Florence was a member of the Shiloh Seventh Day Baptist Church of Shiloh, NJ for eighty one years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mary Ann, a son, James Harold Moncrief, a granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Moncrief, a granddaughter, Karen Elizabeth Russell, her first husband, Theodore Moncrief and her second husband Oliver Dickinson.
Florence graduated from Bridgeton High School in the class of 1945. She married Theodore Moncrief on May 1st, 1949. They raised a family of three children, two sons, Jim and Steve, and a daughter, Fay.
After the death of Ted, she married Oliver Dickinson on May 30th, 1981. After Oliver’s death in 2002, she moved to Granite Falls, NC and lived with her daughter, Fay and son in law, Dave Russell until her time of graduating to her heavenly home.
She is survived by a brother, Mark Sheppard (Eleanor) a son Steve Moncrief, (Dodi), a daughter, Fay Russell (Dave) and daughter in law, Jan Moncrief. Grandchildren, Jimmy Moncrief, (Roxanne), Dottie Cruzan, Julie Snead, (Denny), Debbie Bond, (Ward), Becky Minton, (Jason), Steven Russell, (Amber) and Ben Russell, (Dustin). Great Grandchildren, Amanda Schrieber, (Dave), Jimmy and Rocky Moncrief, Denny, Daniel and Casey Snead, Caleb and Hunter Cruzan, Jonah, and Josiah Bond, Karey and Karter Minton, and Alexis and Olivia Russell. One great- great grandchild, Erik Schrieber. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm Tuesday January 25, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church in Morganton, 3861 Pax Hill Road, Morganton, NC 28655. Florence’s final resting place will be at the Shiloh Seventh Day Baptist Church Cemetery in Shiloh, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please do a random act of kindness for someone in memory of Florence.
