Floyd Martin

Floyd Stephen Martin 72 of Newton died Thursday, February 9th, 2017 at Catawba Regional Hospice. Born April 13th, 1944 he was the son of the late Sherman Stephen Martin and Eva Isenhour Martin. He worked at Vanguard Furniture and Lee Industries for many years and retired from Century Furniture.    His son, Wesley Martin and wife Amy of Newton and Wesley's mom, Ramona Ervin of Newton; two sisters, Mary Ann Shumate of Mt. Airy and Edith Hefner of Hickory; a grandson, Zachary Martin of Newton and a special friend, Martha Plott of Claremont survive him. Six brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Saturday, February 11th, 2017 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David McHale officiating. Burial will be private at Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery.
