Frank C. Webber, son of Dr. Frank L. Webber, was born on August 3, 1919 and passed away on September 4, 2015, three days after he and his wife celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. He married Elnora Moshier on September 1, 1940, and shortly thereafter they both accepted Jesus as their Savior. They had no children, but were blessed by loving nephews and nieces. He was a pharmacist mate (naval medical technician) in WWII, assigned to hospitals in Philadelphia PA and Bethesda MD, for a period of three years. After the war, he entered Western Michigan University, taking courses to qualify him to become a teacher, which he enjoyed until his retirement. While teaching, he earned two Masters' degrees. He and his wife retired in 1976 and moved to Florida, which meant other types of learning: square dancing, bowling (eventually becoming qualified to teach bowling classes to youngsters and oldsters) and volunteering at the public library in Largo. Retiring from retirement meant moving to Hickory, North Carolina, in 1987, where he acquired over 11,000 hours of volunteering in the chaplaincy department, in the medical library, and in the pharmacy at Catawba Valley Medical Center. During this time, he also took post-graduate work from Anderson University, Indiana, from which he earned two diplomas of Advanced Ministerial Studies. He and his wife attended the First Church of God, where they both taught Sunday School classes. Each pray, each card, and each call has been deeply appreciated. In lieu of flowers, any memorial gift may be sent to the First Church of God, 306 14th Street, SW, Hickory, NC 28602. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm Sunday September 13, 2015 at First Church of God in Hickory. Please sign the online register at www.jenkinsfuneralhome.net.
