Franklin Withers

Franklin ?Frank? Delano Roosevelt Withers, 72 of Kayla Ridge Rd., Connelly Springs died Friday, January 13, 2012 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. Born May 18, 1939 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Jack Milton Withers and Bonnie Lee Rosenbaum Withers. Frank was a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Newton and an employee of M.D.I. for over 26 years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and an avid fisherman and knife collector. Three daughters, Debra Ann Johnson and husband James of Connelly Springs, Kathy Rene Withers of Hickory and Jo Ann Savary of Connelly Springs; two sons, Jay Harold Withers of Hickory and James Martin Withers and wife Pamela of Granite Falls; two brothers, Fred Thomas Withers and wife Doris of Statesville and Jerry Daniel Withers of Salisbury; 12 grand children and six great grand children survive him. A brother, Jack Milton Withers, Jr. preceded him in death. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Gateway Baptist Church in Newton. Pastor?s Chad Warner and Jerome Walker will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at the church, one hour prior.
