Fred Bennett

Fred Vincent Bennett Jr., 74, of Claremont died December 4, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 3rd, 1949 in Helen, West Virginia he was the son of Fred Vincent Bennett and Cora Jean Bennett . He was a devoted Christian and loved to read his bible everyday. He honorably serviced in the US Army, Fred was a jokester, loved to pick and had a lot of friends especially his neighbors, even the mail lady loved him and he was the highlight of her route. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.

Fred is survived by his wife of 25 years, Diane; children, Rhonda Ross of Newton, Angel Williams of Maiden, Amy Ross and husband Jeremy; siblings, Alice Bailey and husband Larry of West Virginia, Frankie Bennett and Lillie of West Virginia, Rena Carter and Justin of West Virginia; brother in law, Sidney Hancock; sister in law, Vickie Bennett of West Virginia; grandchildren, Jimmy Ross, Devin Williams, Dalton Ross, Makayla Ross, Blake Young, Jacob Ross, Serenity Ross, and Makenna Ross.

Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cindy Young, brother Gordon Bennett and sister Patty Hancock.

The funeral will be Thursday December 7, 2023, 10:00am at Living Word Church, 923 Island Ford Rd, Maiden, NC 28650 with Pastor Brad Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Thursday December 7, 2023, from 9:00am to 10:00am at Living Word Church, 923 Island Ford Rd, Maiden, NC 28650.

Pallbearers: Larry Short, Mark Hucks, Michael Jonas, Tracy Short, Jamie Mills, and Madison South.
