Gaither Tolbert

Gaither King Tolbert 64 of Conover died Friday, December 28th, 2018 at Asheville VA Medical Center. Born February 17th, 1954 he was the son of the late Leonard Raymond Tolbert and Marie Elizabeth Tolbert. Gaither served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. America.
His wife of 38 years Susan Sherrill Tolbert; a daughter Molly Sain and husband Joel of Conover; two brothers Gerald Tolbert and wife Brenda of Newton, Grant Tolbert and wife Callista of Florida; four grandchildren Lukus Sams, McCoy Sams, Noah Sain and Cashton Sain survive him.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am Saturday January 5th, 2019 at Christ Church - Northside 2350 Springs Rd NE, Hickory, NC 28601 with Pastor Kyle DeLong and Pastor Harley Scalf officiating.
The family will receive friends with light refreshments following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry for the Veterans in Crisis at 31 1st Ave SE, Hickory, NC 28602.
