Garland Linder

Garland Ray Linder, 85, of Hickory died Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the Carolina Rehab Center of Burke County. Born November 1st, 1939 he was raised by his grandmother, Iona Linder. He was a truck driver for a number of years, and was married to his wife, Johnnie Eicker Linder for 51 years. He also received Jesus Christ a few months ago, and loved the 23rd Psalm.

He is survived by, his sons, Garland Ray Jr. (Donna), William Linder (Patricia), Robert Linder and Jeff Linder; his daughters, Mary Lail and Jeanne Altizer (Scotty); 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his late wife, Johnnie Eicker Linder; son, David J Linder; grandson, Austin Linder; daughter-in-law, Carla Linder.

His memorial service will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, December 16, 2024 at Jenkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. in the Celebration Center of Jenkins Funeral Home and burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
