Garry Stiltner

Garry Lee Stiltner, 60 of Conover died Wednesday, September 9th, 2015 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born September 27th, 1954 he was the son of the late Robert Henry Stiltner and Georgie Sturgeon Stiltner. He was a coal miner in Virginia for 10 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved to sing and play guitar in church, fishing and playing with his grand-kids. His wife of 40 years, Pat Stiltner of the home; a son, Sean Blankenship of Asheboro; two daughters, Candy Cay Smith and husband William of Bethlehem and Traci Blankenship and companion William of Claremont; four sisters, Shirley Smith of Ohio, Gertrude Lester of Big Rock, VA, Dolores Lester and husband Roland of Grundy, VA and Beaulah Bowman of Vansant, VA; a brother, Kyle Stiltner of Grundy, VA; eight grandchildren, Gari Lea Bickel and husband Shawn of Chuckey, TN, Jonathan Blankenship of Claremont, Kendal Johnson and companion Avery of Claremont, Dakota Smith and companion Victoria of Hickory, Sky Blankenship of Vale, Ariana Blankenship of Claremont, Krissi Keen and husband James of Oakwood, VA and Ashley Sweet and husband T.J. of Taylorsville and six great-grandchildren, Scarlet Smith, Isabella Brookshire, Sadie Sweet, Gunner Sweet, Kara Clifton, Hadlei Keen and three special friends, Randy Roberts and Tim Truesdale and James Foster survive him. Nine brothers, two sisters, preceded him in death. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Sunday, September 13th, 2015 at Covenant Baptist Church with Pastor Edwin Elmore officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 pm Saturday, September 12th, 2015 at Jenkins Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
