Gary Glaze

Gary Lee Glaze, 74 died Saturday August 10, 2013 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born August 12, 1938 in Delaware, OH, he was the son of the late Lloyd William Glaze, Jr. and Irene Patrick Glaze. Gary was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. A U.S. Army veteran , he enjoyed boating. During his career he worked as a construction supervisor in Ohio, and SunLife-Four Seasons and Flowers Auto Parts, both in Hickory. In addition to his wife, Jeannine Evans Glaze of the home; two sons, Chris Glaze of Fort Mill, SC and Brad Glaze of Dublin, Ohio; a sister, Carol Rupp of Dublin, Ohio; four grand-children, Dustin, Nathan, Clayton and Kyle Glaze; a great grand-child, Camden Glaze; a number of nieces and nephews; and sister in law, Judy Custer survive him. The funeral will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hickory with the Rev. Scott Hooks officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 48. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers include Dustin Glaze, Nathan Glaze, Clayton Glaze, Kyle Glaze, Drew Custer and Nicolas Custer. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church Building Fund or Tabernacle Christian School, 1225 29th Ave. Drive N.E. Hickory, NC 28601.
