Gary Hedrick

Gary Kenneth Hedrick of 10th Avenue NE, Hickory died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at his residence. Born December 19, 1956 in Catawba County, he was the son of; John Kenneth & Hazel Hedrick of Conover and the late Doris Marie Carter Hedrick. Gary was a 1975 graduate of Newton Conover High School and was a charter member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a combat medic & instructor and he retired from the U.S. Postal service after 20 years of service. A daughter; Stacia Cheri Hedrick of South Fork, CO., a son; Shane Justin (Britney) Hedrick of Hickory, two sisters; Connie Hedrick Smith of Conover and Sharon Hedrick Vetter of Jacksonville, NC survive him. A Celebration of Garyâ??s life and worship service will be held 4:00 pm Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel on Startown Road in Newton with Pastor Fred Thompson officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be made to: The Gary Kenneth Hedrick Memorial Fund C/O Jenkins Funeral Home, 4081 Startown Rd.
