Gary Mathis

Gary Bernard Mathis, 64 of Conover died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born February 28, 1947 in New York, he was the son of the late Bernard Peter Mathis & Adeline Shreiner Mathis. Gary graduated from R.L. Thomas High School in 1965. He worked for Dolomite Group, Inc. for 22 years and retired in 1999. He was an avid NASCAR fan. In addition to his wife, Jeanne Mathis; two daughters, Tracey Tingue and husband Jordan of Rochester, N.Y. and Lindsey Mathis of Fairport, N.Y.; a sister, Jean Beasley and husband Robert of Webster, N.Y.; a brother, James Mathis and wife Karen of Penfield, N.Y.; two nephews, Peter Mathis and fiancé, Shannon Brady and Luke Beasley; and two nieces, Lisa and husband Jason Quitadamo and Cass Beasley survive him. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Church of the Assumption, 20 East Avenue in Fairport, N.Y. The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m., one hour prior at the church. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 3300 Monroe Ave. Suite 319, Rochester, N.Y. 14618.
