Gary Townsend

Gary Wayne Townsend, 75, of Hickory died Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born Saturday, July 2nd, 1949 he was the son of the late Herbert Hoover Townsend and Ruth Lail Townsend.

Three sons, Scotty Townsend and wife Jeannie, Michael Townsend and Earl Townsend and partner Amanda Davidson; two brothers, Jackie Townsend and Michael Townsend; five sisters, Janice "Arlene" Spann, Anita Parker, Renee Helms, Susan Townsend and Lisa Townsend; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren survive him.

In addition to his parents, three brothers, Marty Lail, Bobby Townsend and Larry Townsend and sisters, Vickie Townsend and Patsy Townsend preceded him in death.
