George Crump

October 8, 1925 — August 19, 2015

George Lee Crump, 89 of Lincolnton died Wednesday, August 19th, 2015 at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center. Born October 8th, 1925 he was the son of the late Thomas Crump and Isabelle Lowdermilk Crump. A WW ll US Navy veteran, he was employed by Foothills Trucking Company for 33 years. He was an avid gardener. His best friend, Iris Crouse of Nathlie, VA; two daughters, Barbara Crump Lackey and husband Tony of Hickory and Donna Crump Solaman and husband Jay of Titusville, FL; two sons, Danny Daryl Crump of Hickory and Billy Dean Crump of Hickory; a step son, Richard Beal and wife Laurie of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren, Tonie Silver, Jimmy Young, Jason Lackey, Danielle Copeland, Justin Little, Derrick Little, Jessica Little, Jane Beal and Ruth Beal; four great grandchildren, Mackenzie Young, Jordan Young, Nick Copeland and Kaliska Little and his "Faithful Companion" Diesel survive him. His second wife, Eulalia Crump, two sons, Kenneth Lee Crump and Roger Lee Crump; two sisters, Janette Coffey and Rosa Crump; three brothers, Charles Crump, Paul Crump and Jessie Crump preceded him in death. The funeral will be 11:00 am Monday, August 24th, 2015 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ruby Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Monday August 24, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The Wounded Warriers Project PO Box 758517, Topeka KS 66675.
