George Ledford

George Lewis Ledford, 78 of Oak Creek Drive, Conover died Friday, April 08, 2011 at his residence. Born April 7, 1933 he was the son of the late Robert Issac Ledford and Ora McNeill Ledford. A daughter, Lori Ledford Whitson of Winston Salem; a son, Mark Ledford and wife Katherine of Waynesville; a brother, Eugene Ledford of Hickory; and two grand-children, Krysta Baye Whitson and Kara Ann Whitson survive him. His wife of 53 years, Marilene Parker Ledford; two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday April 11, 2011 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The Rev. Brian Correll will officiate. Burial will follow at Conover Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by American Legion Post #16. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45 a.m. on Monday April 11, 2011 at the church.
