George Edward Petree 50 of Newton died Saturday, March 17th, 2018 at his residence. Born July 31st, 1967, he was the son of Frances Nuzum Petree and the late Joseph Andrew Petree, Jr. He enjoyed cooking, sports, music, storytelling, and knew the art of closing a deal.
His mother, Frances Nuzum Petree of Newton; two daughters, Clacy Petree of Los Angeles and Chloe Smith of Greenville, SC two sisters, Anne Petree Stedman of Newton and Margaret Petree Rudisill and husband David of Albemarle, NC; a brother, Andy Petree and wife Patty of Hendersonville, NC and his beloved dog, Colby survive him.
His father, Joseph Andrew Petree, Jr. preceded him in death.
A Celebration of George's life will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Newton with Pastor Lara "Willis" Greene officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the ceremony Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Newton.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 300 North Main Ave. Newton, NC.
