Ginger Black

November 20, 1957 — May 28, 2014

Ginger "Robin" Black, 56 of Lincolnton, NC passed from this life to her Heavenly Home on May 28, 2014 after a long illness. Robin was a teacher for twenty five years, retiring because of health reasons. Robin entered her career at West Middle School in Lincoln County where she taught AIG (gifted and talented) students. She attended Wake Forest and graduate from Lenoir Rhyne , first teaching five years at West Middle School in Alexander County. Robin was an accomplished pilot and loved to fly. She received many awards over her teaching career and loved her students. Robin was a member of the N.C. Teacher Association and was a staunch Democrat. Robin was born in Lincolnton on November 20, 1957 and was raised in Crouse, N.C. At the time of her death, she was living at her home in Boger City. Robin was preceded in death by her grand-parents, Segborn & Irene Mauney of Crouse and Dan & Eliza Black of Cherryville. She is survived by her loving parents, Rodney & Sybil Black of Crouse; a brother, R.B."Buck" Black and wife Sabrina of Cowens Ford, N.C.; and her nephew, Tyler Black, a student at East Carolina; and her friend & companion, Tim Lawing. A graveside service will be 11:00am Wednesday June 18, 2014 at the Black Family Section of the Cherryville Memorial Cemetery, in Cherryville, NC 28021.
