Gladys Bollman

Gladys Nancy Bollman of Lincolnton, NC died at home on August 5, 2014 at the age of 90 from complications of dementia. Gladys was born May 27, 1924, in Roaring Spring, PA, the daughter of Raymond McKinley Keith and Carrie Kagarise. She spent her childhood in Morrison Cove. Her family lived on a farm outside of town on Woodbury Pike. Gladys attended grammar school in Taylor Township and in 1942 graduated from Morrison Cove High School in Martinsburg, PA. Gladys had a deeply rooted faith. In her youth she was very active in the Albright Church of The Brethren in Roaring Spring. Once relocating to NJ she became a long time member of Colts Neck Baptist Church in Colts Neck, NJ. In her later years she devoted herself to the nursery and children?s ministry of her church. When no longer able to care for herself alone she spent her final years with family who loved and helped care for her. She met and married Byron Warren Butler on Oct. 17, 1943 and had three children. In 1959 she remarried to Paul Edwin Bollman on November 16th and had three more children. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Fred, George, and Elmer, both husbands, and her eldest child Nancy Jane Stiffey. She is survived by five children: James Butler of Greenwich, NJ; Gloria Wesley of Union Beach, NJ; Judith Childers of Jackson, NJ; Clyde Bollman of Springfield, OR; and Edwin Bollman of Lakewood, NJ; two siblings: Mary Fae Butler of Martinsburg and Ken Keith of Roaring Spring. She is also survived by 17 grand children, 19 great-grand children, and 17 great-great-grand children.
