Glenda Lunsford

January 9, 1939 — December 31, 2020

Glenda Propst Lunsford (81), lifetime resident of Hickory, passed into her next chapter of life, Thursday, December 31, 2020, following a brief illness. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. Glenda worked as a secretary for over 20 years at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. Later she worked part-time at Pinecrest Senior Living where she made many friends before her final retirement. Her favorite times included spending time with family, traveling, watching sports, and playing bingo.  Her favorite time of year was Fall. She enjoyed taking trips to Pigeon Forge, TN and going to the beach with family.
Born to the late Charles & Lillie Propst, she was one of six children. She was preceeded in death by her brothers Ray Propst and Dixon Propst and sisters Thelma Miller and Colleen Robbins. In addition, she was preceeded in death by her daughter, Debbie Smith Caldwell.

Glenda's surviving family includes her brother Mickey Propst (Dianne) and her daughters Denise Lunsford Collins of Hickory, DeeDee Lunsford Vazquetelles of Fort Mill, SC, and step daughter Stephanie Helton Fulbright (Randy) of Vale.

Other family members include grandchildren Anthony Caldwell (Jessica), Kiana Vazquetelles, Ava Vazquetelles, Ashlee Collins, Emylee Collins, Josh Fulbright (Madison), Jordan Fulbright, and great granddaughter Lillie Caldwell.


A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2:00pm at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Hickory with Rev. Rick Crotts officiating. Donations to honor her may be sent to Carolina Caring Hospice 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.

Although everyone is welcome at the graveside service, the family will not be receiving friends.

The family is being served by Jenkins Funeral Home of Newton.
