Gratian Toader

Gratian Toader, 59 of Deerfield Lane, Hickory, died Saturday October 23, 2010 at his residence. Born December 9, 1950 in Romania, the son of the late Damian Toader and Gafia Oprea. Mr. Toader was a master technician and worked with Penske over 15 years. He always put others first, and was a “super” grandfather. His greatest accomplishment was leading others to Christ. His wife of 35 years, Marcenica Costas Toader of the home; a daughter, Simona Lonca and husband Benjamin of Conover; a sister, Anuta Pop of Romania; two brothers, Ioan Toader & Petru Toader, both of Romania; and four grand-children, Joshua, Caleb, Zachary and Ethan survive him. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Brookford Cemetery in Mtn. View. The family will receive friends 5:30-6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Jenkins Funeral Home. A pre-service will follow from 6-8:00 p.m. in the chapel.
