Gretta Ramseur

Mrs. Gretta Mungro Ramseur 62 of Maiden departed this life on Thursday, March 25, 2021 after a long illness at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born, August 12th, 1958 in Catawba County to the late Willie Joe Mungro Sr. and Ruby Lee Beatty.  Mrs. Ramseur was employed for 10 years at Corning Cable. She left to attend cvcc to get her associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. Almost at her goal, she became ill and had to quit. She did accomplish an associates certificate, and became a daycare director at Guardian Angel in Hickory NC.  In 2008 she had to quit because her illness took a turn for the worst.

She leaves to cherish her wonderful, loving, caring husband of 44 years Dera Ramseur of Maiden NC; a daughter Shameka of Conover; two sons Dewayne Ramseur of Newton, Jerome Ramseur of Spartanburg, SC; four sisters Vanessa (Gaither) Danner of Newton, Carolyn (Terry) Ramseur of Newton, Lisa (Willie) Clark of Asheville, Rosalind (Carlton) Battle of Asheville; two brothers Fredrick Mungo of Newton, Willie Joe Mungro Jr. of Wisconsin; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and five grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father in law Flemon Pete Ramseur Jr. and mother in law Ethel Mae Atkins Ramseur.

The funeral will be 12:00 pm Saturday April 3, 2021 at  MT. Olive Baptist Church in Newton with Bishop Terry Cherry officiating. Burial will follow at at Central City Cemetery in Newton.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 Am- 12:00 pm Saturday April 3, 2021 at MT. Olive Baptist Church in Newton.
