H. Boyce Flowers, 65 of 5th Avenue, Hickory died Friday, August 13, 2010 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley, Born August 7, 1945 he was the son of the late Henry Gordon & Martha Lou Hilton Flowers. He was a track laborer for Norfolk Southern Railroad for many years and a National Guard Veteran. He was a life long member of Sweetwater Presbyterian Church. Boyce was also a member of the Hickory Riding Club; the bikers that do Poker Runs for Hospice and have collected more $125,000. His wife, Donna Kay Worsham Flowers of the home; two sons, Bryan Keith Flowers of Hickory & Christopher Boyce Flowers of Hickory; two sisters, Frances Yoder of Hickory and Jewel Honeycutt of Hickory; a brother, Tom Flowers of Hickory and a grand- daughter, Chelsey Nicole Flowers of Taylorsville survive him. A brother, Bruce Gordon Flowers preceded him in death. A celebration of Mr. Flowersâ?? life will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Sweetwater Presbyterian Church with Rev. Randy Harding officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.
