Harold Junior Detter ,74, of Newton passed away Saturday, December 16th, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born, March 5th, 1949 he was the son of the late Harold Shuford Detter and Margaret Detter.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda Detter of Newton; a daughter Michelle Foss (Scott) of Shelbyville, Kentucky; a son Jamie Detter of Newton; two brothers, Michael Detter (Karen) of Maiden, and Dale Detter of Lincolnton; two sisters, Terri Detter of Maiden and Carri Davis of Iron Station; four grandchildren, Seth Greer, Zachary Greer, Ashley Hicks, Brittany Detter, and four great grandchildren, Braidyn Greer, Reagan Hicks, Sophia Greer, Zaine Hicks.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Brenda Helms and Linda Nash.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
