Harold Mccumber

Harold Robert McCumber 71 of Cherryville died Monday, July 15, 2019 at Carolina Caring. Born February 1st, 1948 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of  Pauline Beatrice McCumber.

Harold moved the family to the US in 1978 and became naturalized in 1993. After retiring as a telecommunications engineer, he continued to enjoy construction projects and landscaping. An avid hockey player in his youth, late in life he enjoyed tinkering on old cars and continual companionship with many German Shepards. He is a member of Unity Baptist Church in Crouse.

Harold leaves his wife Bonnie (Hamilton) of 48 years, three sons Ryan (Heather), Regan (Tia), and Reid (Brooke); six beautiful granddaughters Taylor, Laney, Zoe, Zada, Kennedy, and Avery. His twin brother David (Marg), sister Joan (Jim) Crozier, of Canada, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Pauline and mother-in-law Thelma Hamilton.

The family will receive friends to celebrate Harold's life from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm Friday, July 19th, 2019 at Unity Baptist Church  at 3017 W. Old NC HWY 150 Crouse, NC 28033

The family requests donations to Carolina Caring Hospice 3975 Robinson Rd, Newton, NC 28658 and the building fund of Unity Baptist Church 3017 W. Old NC HWY 150 Crouse, NC 28033 in lieu of flowers.

Jenkins Funeral Home staff is not involved in the gathering of friends at the church.
