Harry Franks

Harry ?Sonny? Dale Franks, 68 of Old State Road, Newton died Friday, September 28, 2012 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Born March 9, 1944 in Ohio, he was the son of the late Harry Ellis Franks and Pauline Mullen Franks. During his lifetime, Harry was a Mason and a Shriner with the Conover Lodge. A daughter, Beth Franks Heaton and husband Mike of Hickory; a son, Kyle Franks and wife Stephanie of Gastonia; four sisters, Monica Vandett and husband Wally, Nancy Wright and husband Dale of Mtn. View, Donna Lockhardt of Cummings, GA. and Spring Reitzel and husband Kenneth of Newton; three grand-children, Makayla Heaton, Alexandria and Kale Franks; and numerous nieces and nephews survive him. In addition to his parents; his step-mother, Sylvia Franks; a brother, Dean Franks, a sister, Shirley Franks Bumgarner; and grand-mother, Mary Vichichi preceded him in death. A memorial service will be 2:30 pm Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Newton. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the chapel. The Rev. Ryan Ray of Amazing Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road Newton, NC 28658.
