Harvey Maxwell Sigmon, 83, of St. Johnâ??s Church Road died Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Abernethy Laurels after a period of declining health. Born June 29, 1923 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Walter Lee and Carrie Ethel Sigmon. He was a lifelong member of St. Johnâ??s Lutheran Church, a deacon, and a Sunday school superintendent and a US Army veteran. He was retired from General Electric as a Quality Control inspector. A brother, Albert Sigmon and two sisters, Alverta and Vernell Sigmon preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Elizabeth Smith Sigmon of the home, two daughters; Esther Sigmon Bandy and husband, John, of Conover and Anita Sigmon Gryder and husband, Dwight, of Conover; a son, Harvey Dallas Sigmon and wife, Kim, of Conover; a sister, Alice Inabelle Little of Conover; a brother, Hemeter â??Budâ? Harding Sigmon of Conover; six grandchildren, Tamp Bandy and wife, Jennifer, Lisa Sain and husband, Dr. Jason Sain, Matthew Bandy and wife, Anna, Lela Gryder, Lauren Sigmon and Alex Sigmon; six great grandchildren, Austin Bandy, Jacob Bandy, Bridgett Bandy, Wyatt Sain, Lizzie Sain and Sara Sain. A Celebration of Harveyâ??s Life will be Tuesday, December 19th at 3:00 at St. Johnâ??s Lutheran Church with Pastors Scott Johnson and Anton Lagoutine officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 at the church prior to the Service.
