Hattie Shakeshaft

Hattie Delores Shakeshaft 81 of Newton NC, passed away in the morning on December 31, 2020 at Lanier Rehab Center in Jacksonville FL. She was born in Sayre Pa on Wednesday, October 25th, 1939 to Fred and Evelyn Wells. Hattie and Doug were members of Eastern Sky Church of God in Newton, NC.
Those who survive her include her husband Douglas Shakeshaft of Newton NC, her children; three sons Harold Edward Coe of Statesville NC, Ronald Coe of Conover NC, and Kenneth Coe of Ithaca NY, and two daughters Rosella Coe Shields of Newton NC, Barbara Coe Wells of WV. Her three brothers Fred Wells, Calvin Wells, and Rodney Wells of OH. Her four sisters Shirley Wells Carpenter of OH, Becky Wells Owens of FL, Carol of TN and Jackie of FL. Numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Hattie was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Evelyn Wells, her first husband Harold Coe. Sisters Leona Avila and Marjorie Wells, and her brothers Joe Wells, and John Wells Sr.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
